Map of myself
This was one of the first projects we did this year. It is a map of who I am and the things I like. The first thing we did was ordering our ideas by answering some questions. Later we started creating a rough draft of our map. It needed to have a key to explain all the elements we put in it. Some of the elements I put in it are Liga Bay and N.C lakes. I put these two elements because Liga is my favorite soccer team and North Carolina is my favorite place to be in the world. Later we started creating the final map in an A3 cardboard. We first drew it and then we painted it with water color. An important part of this project was the creating your own invented compass rose and i think I did a good job. The last thing we had to do was answer some reflection questions.
How I said before this project was one of the first ones we did this year. I found this project really fun and interesting. It was also a way to express myself and tell everybody who I am without speaking and in a fun way. I had no problem at all creating the first draft and answering the questions. What i had problems with was painting the map with water colors because i am not really good at but still I did the best I could and I think it turned out well. The reflection questions we had to answer were really interesting because it made me think about symbolism in art and in the world and who different elements can be seen differently by people with a different cultural background.

Color Value project
This project was based on the skills we learned about color value and how to use them. We had to create and abstract work with lines going in every direction we wanted and every area had to be colored in different ways. We could use whatever colors we wanted but we had to follow certain specifications that made us use color value with its different techniques like cross hatching and pointillism. We also needed to have a certain amount of areas colored completely of certain colors like black blue and red just to give us a guide of were to start our work.
I really liked this project because we had lots of freedom while doing it. We could basically do whatever we want and use what ever colors we wanted. Another thing I liked is that we didn't have to draw a lot and nothing specific because I really don't like drawing and I'm not good at it. The hardest part of this project was drawing all the lines and being happy with the results. I had to repeat my work twice before i was happy with my drawings. The easiest and funnest part was coloring. In th future I will do another drawing like this just to see how it turns out and for fun.

Collage of myself
This was the very first project we did in this school year. Its supposed to be a collage of the things we like. Its purpose I think was for the teacher to know us. Some of the things I put in there were a picture of war planes, an ATV, food, guns and some pictures of the sports I like to play. The first thing I did was to think about what was i going to put in there. Then I looked in the Internet for pictures that could represent the elements i wanted to put into my collage and print them. Then I cut them and started organizing them to see which way they were gonna fit in the paper the way i wanted them to and started pasting them. I wrote my name in the middle and I added some palm leaves as a frame and to give it a little bit more of decoration.
This project was kind of hard and at the same time easy. It was hard for me because even though I had a rubric i didn't know what to expect of the teacher. I put a lot of effort in this project and did everything in a good way but something bad happened. The day I was supposed to hand it in I had last art the last period and we went to the library to take some notes when the bell rang I forgot to hand in the sketch book were my project was to the teacher. The next day I went and talked to her and she accepted it but i just got half credit. I like this project because it was a really easy one and it allowed another person to know a little bit of who I am and what I like. Even though this projects are easy to do I'm kind of tired and bored of doing because i have done since kindergarten.
